  1. Wow! That's quite a list! I think a lot of damage could be done with those topics (damage is used as a good thing here). I am going to write my paper about electronic cigarettes. My proposed thesis statement goes something like this: "Electronic cigarettes are unknown, potentially dangerous items that the public needs to be informed about and that Utah's legislature should amend Utah's Clean Indoor Air Act to include e-cigarettes." It's a work in progress, but I think it has some potential. What could I change to make it better?

    1. Well, Carl, that's a pretty good thesis statement you've got going there. I would maybe try and make it make a little more sense when read. (That sentence is even hard to read!)

    2. I chose to write my final essay on propaganda and how the public is influenced too much by it. I did way too much research on the topic, but there was an incredible amount of information that could be read about that applied. Just want to give a quick thought to anyone that might actually read this. Do not believe much of anything you might hear through our fine information source of the news broadcast. Wait for the truth to be told.

  2. Tell me if I am wrong, but can we write our 3rd essay on something we've already talked about in class, ie princess mania? Girls growing up too quickly?

  3. I'm leaning more towards the sex education bill. (hb 363) Seeing as it was vetoed, I kind of wondered if I could argue a "what if" scenario if it did pass. Can that work with the general outline of our last essay? Or can anyone suggest what possible points I could talk about? (in the non-conservative sense, I'm totally against this bill)In all of my cites, the center argument is that the choice should be up to the parents and not the schools. I am just having troubles with understanding where I can go with my idea.

  4. Maybe this is a little off-topic, but can anyone remember how to cite a website with no known author? (It's an informational site that fully supports other information I have gathered.) Do I simply list the author as "unknown?"

    2. Sure you can get all of your credits by the time you're a junior, but some students use their senior year to spend time with friends one last time (like Jackie said) or to finish up those last minute credits, OR in my case, I went to my high school my senior year for one class. Literally. The only reason I stayed enrolled and didn't graduate early was because I had my cosmetology school paid for through my high school... So it's helpful to have that last year. I think.

    3. I would agree we should keep senior year. Its an opportunity to get ahead in college. I wish i would have done more in my senior year.

    4. I of course also took all concurrent enrollment and early college classes while in my junior and senior year, which also helps so much get a head start on your college degree, and the fee you pay is like $30 compared to the thousands. I think it's way worth it to take CE and keep your senior year.

    5. I agree with Carly, because i loved when my CE classes cost about $30 compared to what they cost in college. Senior year is a great time to get a head start for college without paying as much.

  6. I honestly want to know why people would tell their kids that Santa is not real? I get the Honesty thing, but is there a better reason? the average person forgives their parents for that lie. SO honesty is not that great of a reason!

  7. My senior year i took every other day off and them took CE classes that helped me get a head start my degree. Getting rid of your senior year could add a lot of stress to your high school and those years are meant to be fun.

  9. When I was a senior in high school I thought I needed to be with my friends all the time and not focus on school so much. I now feel like I missed out on a lot of things like ce courses that could of got me ahead. Does anybody else feel this way?

  11. For my essay i'm arguing texting while driving is dangerous. How many of you guys text while drive? Also do you have a touch phone or keyboard phone?

  12. I am only 18 and i feel like i grew up way to fast. Ill admit i Text and while i am in the car but only when i am at a stop light or something where my car is not moving. Texting while your car in is motion is stupid. your not just putting your self at risk but the others driving around you. People need to respect the road and realize texting can wait.

    2. I agree with Tilar, I text when I'm at a stop light or something, I would never text while the car was in motion. I've had a family member pass away from an accident where someone hit his car, while texting. Horrible move!
